Modernology

Due to popular demand, the complete range of 'Modernolgy' by Pat Bravo for Art Gallery has arrived.

This is a very chic range with wonderful shades of aqua, indigo, bright lime, soft grey and rose.  We have had lots of fun arranging different selections and imagining the possibilities.

The fabric has a beautiful feel to it and would be great in patchwork, clothing or whatever else you'd care to create.

Art Gallery has a free downloadable quilt pattern with this colleciton. The name is Quiltology designed by Pat Bravo.   Link:  http://www.artgalleryfabrics.com/cgi-bin/fabricshop/projects.cgi?patternID=38

What was in the boxes?

Well, I had to wait to find out what was in the boxes as Russell said that it wasn't worth the trip to the shop to see.  The fabricaholic in me disagrees.  But I was trilled to see the entire new range of 'Twirl' by Me & My Sister for Moda.  There are so many lovely fabrics that I can't fit them all into the photo.

New fabrics

I was in early this morning to see a fabric rep and went a little silly.  I ordered many new ranges and can't wait to get them into the store to show you all.  Then, a delivery arrived with more fabrics.  Look at these yummy fabrics...
And a few more.

I have the afternoon off today.  But the shop just rung to say there was another 6 big boxes of fabric at the back door.  Dilemma: to go in now or wait til tomorrow.  Stay tuned to see what is in the boxes.

Fairly Fun Fairy Fabrics

Hi,

Well, we finally started receiving deliveries again as the wholesalers begin to reopen after the Christmas holidays.  I was starting to have a major withdrawal meltdown.  Amongst the deliveries were a lot of basic fabrics and notions to top up our existing ranges.  As well as...

This beautiful fairy fabric has been very popular in the past with lots of people pre-ordering.  Luckily, we have just had plenty arrive.  It would look fabulous as a backing on "Dancing Under the Stars'.

I wonder what will arrive in next weeks deliveries...

Hi everyone,

We have had a busy week in the shop this week, with many first time visitors and people calling in whilst on holidays.

We have had a week with no fabric deliveries which is really unusual as we normally have fabrics arriving daily. Most of the wholesalers will reopen this week after their Christmas close down so the trucks will start pulling up again with deliveries.

I have had some 5" x 5" charm squares cut, they are themed for boys or girls and each pack has 40 squares suitable for an "I spy" quilt.

Did you know we have over 200 bolts of Kaffe Fassett in stock? Great bright bold designs for a summer project.

Christmas holidays

Hi everyone,

Sorry it has been so long but I have been in post Christmas relax mode. Christmas day was a great day with Rebecca and her family with us for the day and our other children and their families splitting the day between us and the inlaws.

Rebecca's little girls looked very cute with their Christmas hats on (a tradition at our house, if you want to eat you wear a hat!!)

Boxing day off to Myers eastland at 7 am for opening, just a little shopping and then meeting friends for breakfast at 8 am then back home pack the car and off to Rosebud for about a week.

It was so nice to be at the beach, time to relax and enjoy time with six grand daughters and their parents.

We were on the beach early 8.30am the girls loved the sand, sorry I didn't take the camera to the beach then we would head back to the house for some morning tea and most of the children would have a sleep. Then up for lunch and a play at the house, somedays play dough

Some days water play

Some days painting

Rebecca made the art smocks for the girls out of some of the heavy weight Kokka fabrics which are in the shop, don't they look great.

Some days it was back to the beach again late in the day.

Then it was dinner time and a walk to the park and one night we went to the carnival and met our other two grandchildren.

Every meal was eaten outside.

This is why I love this time of the year!

I have been back at the shop this week and it is nice to be surrounded by fabric again.
